VDO TACH SENDER
Reference: 51507
Tachometers need some type of sensor to be able to measure the RPM. In some engines (e.g. Rotax 912) it is already installed as standard, but in some others (e.g. Jabiru) isn't.
The sensor must be installed in front of a cogwheel (e.g. the starter motor crown) at a distance not exceeding 1 mm. You can also hook a small magnet to any rotating part facing to the sensor. In this case you must first test the orientation of the magnet flow is correct.
The VDO tachometers are programmable, and therefore allow you to adjust the number of pulses per revolution for a correct reading of the RPM.
