Description
The Garmin GDL50 is a device with 2 main functionalities: Traffic monitor and attitude indicator.
Traffic monitor
To show on-screen traffic, the GDL 50 has a dual-frequency ADS-B receiver (978MHz and 1090MHz). In this way, all aircraft equipped with Mode-S transponder and transmitting the ADS-B out protocol can be shown.
These traffics can be displayed on the following devices: Aera 500, 550, 660, 695, 760, 795 and Garmin App.
Attitude indicator
The GDL 50 incorporates a powerful AHRS which allows to provide attitude information (artificial horizon) that can be displayed on the Aera or Garmin apps for smartphone and tablets.
